So with the update to pkgdb2, pkgdb-cli should be easily portable to python3 but blocks on 2 points: * It requires a python3-fedora package * Either wait for EL5 to be EOL'd or stop supporting it I'd go with stop supporting it. How many Fedora packagers are running EL5? Or we could ask on devel, if we really want to be sure. Maybe just release the first one or two versions in el5, then make the switch. This way at least EL5 users will have a pkgdb2 compatible pkgdb-cli If you are consider the API of pkgdb2 stable, then that makes sense. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 22 development cycle. Changing version to '22'. More information and reason for this action is here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Program_Management/HouseKeeping/Fedora22 Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 25 development cycle. Changing version to '25'. This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Still valid – but python3-fedora exists now. I wonder whether packagedb-cli should still block PY3PACKAGER. Currently fedora-packager-0.6.0.1-4.fc28 still requires packagedb-cli. However, is it **actually** required? I don't think it is anymore no, we could drop the requirement. The PR is there, stalled for months. fedora-packager-0.6.0.2-3.fc29 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 29. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2018-9eee09ffa4 fedora-packager-0.6.0.2-3.fc28 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 28. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2018-5d75107ae2 fedora-packager-0.6.0.2-3.fc27 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 27. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2018-a3fa7fa5da Thanks for merging that PR, however that does not solve this bug. It merely unblocks PY3PACKAGER. fedora-packager-0.6.0.2-3.el7 has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 7. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2018-a55a6a779c I've edited the updates to list bz1530703 instead of this one. Looks like it is blocking Bodhi from being Python 3 - http://fedora.portingdb.xyz/pkg/bodhi/ This message is a reminder that Fedora 27 is nearing its end of life. On 2018-Nov-30 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 27. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '27'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.
