What is in ~/.xsession-errors after the failed login?

Comment 2 ENOMOTO Tetsuya 2003-10-07 07:10:50 UTC
Check line "DefaultSession = *.desktop" in <etc>/X11/gdm/gdm.conf, make sure
match "*.desktop" to <etc>/X11/dm/Sessions/*.desktop.

We fixed a bug that sounds a lot like this in gdm. Can you try gdm-2.4.4.3-5 or
later from rawhide and let us know if this problem persists.

Comment 4 Paul Coleman 2003-10-14 19:03:57 UTC
This just happened to me upgrading from test2(.94) to test3(.95). After the
failed login the .xsession-errors file showed nothing. In failsafe mode now
trying to resolve issue.

Assuming since been fixed
