To rephrase the problem - there was a problem with grubby incorrectly updating the grub config so always the old kernel was booted. The fix is contained in grubby-8.35-8.fc21 but this version fails to build for ppc and thus we need an updated version of grubby. FWIW, I tested grubby-8.40-1 and grub2-2.02-0.16 on F21... they work fine and fix this issue. []'s Gustavo grubby-8.40-1.fc21 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 21. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/grubby-8.40-1.fc21 Package grubby-8.40-1.fc21: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 21 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing grubby-8.40-1.fc21' as soon as you are able to.
