known issue, the storage module isn't loading properly all the time, sometimes it'll boot, sometimes it doesn't Please also include in the initial description an overview of the hardware and the actual problem in more detail than "doesn't boot" Hi Peter, The hardware is APM Mustang with the beta version of F/W. The actual problem I suspect is unpacking initramfs fails, that did not occur with the f24 candidate kernel based upon v4.4. Does this help? The issue is that most of the HW (PCI, usb etc) doesn't yet support it so you end up with about the equiv of 3.17 in terms of HW functionality (sata. serial, 1 NIC). Once the support is upstream it'll be supported. It seems there's some weird irregularity with generating gzip initrds. It is unclear if the problem is in the making of the compressed initrd or a bug in the decompression process. Either way a DT or ACPI boot will make no difference to the resulting outcome. 4.5.0-0.rc7.git0.2.fc24.aarch64 kernel does not boot regardless of the parameter, acpi=force or off. This is just for the record as I've tested this against the fairly recent Tianocore from APM This looks like this problem: https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/2/1/885 I'll try Ard's suggested hack and see how that works.
