Description Yaakov Selkowitz 2017-02-28 22:49:51 UTC
Since KDE was rebased to 16.12, kgpg suddenly began autostarting on all desktops, not only Plasma. The autostart had previously been limited to KDE/Plasma but this was lost in the KF5-ization of kgpg:

http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/kgpg.git/commit/?id=e121b9ee9a2203ef5cfc827413e21e13f1700725

Please restore this by adding the following to %install:

echo 'OnlyShowIn=KDE;' >> %{buildroot}%{_kf5_sysconfdir}/xdg/autostart/org.kde.kgpg.desktop

This affects all current branches of Fedora.

Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2017-03-01 00:09:18 UTC
I think the difference is not OnlyShowIn, but that the default condition changed. kgpg used to not autostart by default, and now it does. I'll investigate further as time allows.

Comment 2 Rex Dieter 2017-03-01 00:10:13 UTC
hrm, nevermind, here it is:

-echo 'OnlyShowIn=KDE;' \
-   >> %{buildroot}%{_sysconfdir}/xdg/autostart/kgpg.desktop &&

indeed.

Comment 3 Fedora Update System 2017-03-01 14:48:02 UTC
kgpg-16.12.2-2.fc25 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 25. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-7cbfead262

Comment 4 Yaakov Selkowitz 2017-03-01 16:13:06 UTC
OnlyShowIn was added to the desktop menu entry, not the autostart entry.

Comment 5 Rex Dieter 2017-03-01 16:42:05 UTC
Heh, silly me, not my day, thanks.

Note this is also an upstream KDE bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373891. (I don't have access to add it to the See Also field.) (And a "me too" from me, since I bounce between three different desktop environments. Thanks for looking at this!)

Comment 12 BugMasta 2017-03-06 11:24:56 UTC
How about fixing the ridiculous CPU hogging that kgpg does after boot, it's ridiculous.

It chews 100% on 4 cores for 3 minutes every time i boot up, and this is on i7-6700k so not an underpowered cpu.

Comment 13 BugMasta 2017-03-06 11:27:04 UTC
rpm -q kgpg
kgpg-16.12.2-1.fc25.x86_64

Comment 14 Rex Dieter 2017-03-06 14:15:04 UTC
I'm not aware of any "rediculous CPU hogging", please file a separate bug for this separate issue (ideally upstream @ bugs.kde.org). thanks
