Description
Upstream Release Monitoring

One or more of the specfile's Sources is not a valid URL so we cannot automatically build the new version for you. Please use a URL in your Source declarations if possible. Updated in git, but neither 5.4 or 5.5 builds with python 3.6. Investigating, more eyes welcome. Currently the builds aren't even making it to the python3 section. Doing a build in f26 or rawhide gives the following error. ... make[3]: Leaving directory '/builddir/build/BUILD/brltty-5.4/Programs' set -- --quiet build --build-temp .; \ [ "linux-gnu" != "mingw32" ] || set -- "${@}" --compiler mingw32; \ /usr/bin/python2 ./setup.py "${@}" cc1: error: -Wformat-security ignored without -Wformat [-Werror=format-security] cc1: some warnings being treated as errors error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 ... This is because the package is building with the -Werror=format-security set, but in setup.py we are setting -Wno-format In order for it to build we have to do one of two things (though I'm not ruling out something different) to change the flags in setup.py. diff --git a/configure b/configure index 1f4f567..2c04f99 100755 --- a/configure +++ b/configure @@ -8673,7 +8673,7 @@ fi if test "${GCC}" = "yes" then - CYTHON_CFLAGS="-Wno-parentheses -Wno-unused -Wno-format -fno-strict-aliasing -U_POSIX_C_SOURCE -U_XOPEN_SOURCE" + CYTHON_CFLAGS="-Wno-error=format-security -Wno-parentheses -Wno-unused -Wno-format -fno-strict-aliasing -U_POSIX_C_SOURCE -U_XOPEN_SOURCE" else case "${host_os}" in -- or diff --git a/configure b/configure index 1f4f567..2c04f99 100755 --- a/configure +++ b/configure @@ -8673,7 +8673,7 @@ fi if test "${GCC}" = "yes" then - CYTHON_CFLAGS="-Wno-parentheses -Wno-unused -Wno-format -fno-strict-aliasing -U_POSIX_C_SOURCE -U_XOPEN_SOURCE" + CYTHON_CFLAGS="-Wno-parentheses -Wno-unused -fno-strict-aliasing -U_POSIX_C_SOURCE -U_XOPEN_SOURCE" else case "${host_os}" in -- Both get you past this build error. But then unfortunately, we're back to the original problem, that it's not building on python 3.6. Upstream fixed the cflags issue in 5.5; only the Python 3 issue remains. I'll dig into it further today. configure isn't doing what is ought to be with the PYTHON environment variable, even if I manually specify all the related variables, or re-run autogen.
