Description wss9062 2018-12-13 22:00:22 UTC
Description of problem:
On a VirtualBox installation of CentOS 7, I installed geany. Afterwards I attempted to install all geany-plugins. it failed on this plugin with --skip-broken work around recommendation.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.31-3.el7

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. sudo yum -y install geany
2. sudo yum -y install geany-plugins*

Actual results:
Error: Package geany-plugins-git-changebar-1.31-3.el7.x86_64 (epel)
          Requires: libgit2.so.24()(64bit)
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

Expected results:
I have installed this using a scripted install in this manner on more than 25 machines with never an issue. Either it is broken or installing it on a VirtualBox VM is introducing a problem. However, all other software installed to that VM by the same script seems to install fine.

FEDORA-EPEL-2020-3a85ca9e73 has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 7. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2020-3a85ca9e73

Comment 2 Dominic Hopf 2020-05-24 17:49:20 UTC
So finally I've made it to successfully build the Geany-Plugins, now we have an update: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2020-3a85ca9e73
This of course will land in the epel-testing repositories first, you will be able to update this with a command similar to this:

yum -y update geany* --enablerepo=epel-testing

If everything works fine for you I appreciate any feedback and Karma on the link above.
