Description Miro Hrončok 2019-10-09 12:49:02 UTC
Description of problem:
python-django-babel Requires python3.8dist(django) < 3, but we have updated Django to 3.

See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Django3

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
python3-django-babel-0:0.6.2-10.fc32

How reproducible:
$ repoquery --repo=rawhide --requires python3-django-babel | grep django

Please update to a version that supports Django 3. If there is no such version, please bring this upstream.

Comment 1 Matthias Runge 2019-10-10 05:25:11 UTC
dropping this here, will require more work: https://github.com/python-babel/django-babel/pull/50

Comment 2 Ben Cotton 2020-02-11 17:52:11 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle.
Changing version to 32.

Comment 5 Matthias Runge 2020-05-15 09:49:41 UTC
upstream does not support django 3 yet.

Comment 7 Igor Raits 2020-07-01 08:59:59 UTC
This package has been orphaned.

You can pick it up at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-django-babel by clicking button "Take". If nobody picks it up, it will be retired and removed from a distribution.

Comment 8 Miro Hrončok 2020-08-18 12:17:20 UTC
According to https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/ point 9:

> A week before the scheduled beta freeze, any packages which have open FTI bugs in the NEW state for at least 8 weeks with at least 2 reminder comments will be retired from the relevant release and rawhide (in addition to being orphaned).

This package was now orphaned (if not already) and is being retired from F33 and rawhide.

If you like it to be unretired, please open a ticket at https://pagure.io/releng/new_issue?template=package_unretirement

If you believe this was done by an accident and would like to talk to me, please note that this comment is mass posted to several bugzillas and I'm not CCed in all of them. Add me to CC or e-mail me directly if you wish need to respond.

The releng ticket it https://pagure.io/releng/issue/9693
