Apologies for missing the version part. Name : firefox Version : 70.0.1 Release : 3.nss.fc32 Architecture : x86_64 Can you install wl-clipboard package and use wl-paste/wl-copy to confirm that's a Firefox bug, i.e. wl-paste/wl-copy gives different result than Firefox? Thanks. (In reply to Martin Stransky from comment #2) > Can you install wl-clipboard package and use wl-paste/wl-copy to confirm > that's a Firefox bug, i.e. wl-paste/wl-copy gives different result than > Firefox? > Thanks. I have re-installed a fresh rawhide just to report this issue with a clean home directory. Wayland copy-paste using that command works perfectly but Firefox on Wayland even greyed out "paste" in right click menu. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle. Changing version to 32. This is also affecting Fedora 32 Workstation Beta. There are no extensions running and system is up to date (by the time of writing) Noticed that I'm able to copy from other applications to Firefox but not the other way around. Package information: Name : firefox Version : 74.0 Release : 5.fc32 Architecture : x86_64 Source : firefox-74.0-5.fc32.src.rpm Repository : @System From repo : updates-testing This also affects Fedora 32 and **GNOME** sessions. Curiously, it seems that copy-paste works internally in FF. If I cut or copy something within FF I am able to paste it back in some other place in FF, but not in another application. Thanks, I'll look at it. I see broken image copy/paste from Firefox but regular text works for me on Gnome. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1622538 Can you try the tescase from https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/1160 ? Thanks. Mozilla guys marked that "invalid", still need info? I will be able to test it on a VirtualBox VM instead of real hardware. I will be able to test > it on a VirtualBox VM instead of real hardware. "Invalid" in Mozilla terms means it's not a bug in Firefox but in some other component, which is gtk3/mutter in this case. I was asking for needinfo as the original bugreport I closed is for Gnome (mutter compositor) so it would be useful to know if it also affects KDE which uses Plasma Wayland compositor. Thanks. (In reply to Martin Stransky from comment #8) > See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1622538 > Can you try the tescase from > https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/1160 ? > Thanks. I am able to reproduce my original issue under current 32 beta (completely updated) running Gnome. Regarding the issue on gnome "mutter", I couldn't find a way to paste an **image** to Firefox. I even opened a mail compose window on fastmail.com to try. Anyway, this issue is still valid for Firefox current on current 32 beta. I have tried on current Fedora 32 using latest package versions. Pasting to "Google Docs" didn't work while pasting to other applications work. Firefox is not running in Wayland mode BTW, it uses X11 protocol for the time being. Using plasma-wayland. You can try https://pasteboard.co/ for the image paste. This message is a reminder that Fedora 32 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 32 on 2021-05-25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '32'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 32 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 32 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2021-05-25. Fedora 32 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
