This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle. Changing version to 32. Jamie, could you please have look and report this upstream if needed? Thanks. This one's owned by Carl George. Jamie, technically you are still listed as amin admin at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-falcon Shall i give the package to Carl George? I thought I had already. He has admin, maybe I can't transfer "main admin" myself. (so yes, that'd be good). Done. Let me know if I shall re-add you as "admin". I finally got around to looking into this one. Upstream only claims to support up to Python 3.7 with their current stable version of 2.0.0 [0]. They also have a 3.0.0a1 version that claims support for Python 3.8 [1]. I wasn't able to find any existing issues or pull requests related to Python 3.9. I tried to update the spec file to 3.0.0a1 to see if it worked with Python 3.9, but I ran into some new build requirements [2]. Two of those aren't packaged yet. - uvicorn - daphne Once those are packaged (either by myself or if someone beats me to it) I'll take another run at this. When in doubt, please ask. The Python 3.9 rebuild is in progress in a Koji side tag. If you fix this bug, please don't rebuild the package in regular rawhide, but do it in the side tag with: $ fedpkg build --target=f33-python The rebuild is progressing slowly and it is possible this package won't have all the required build dependencies yet. If that's the case, please just leave the fix committed and pushed and we will eventually rebuild it for you. You are not asked to go and try rebuild all the missing dependencies yourself. If you know there is a bootstrap loop in the dependencies, let me know and we can untangle it together. If you want to test your fix or reproduce the failure, you can still use the Copr repo mentioned in the initial comment of this bug: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/python/python3.9/ Reported upstream. https://github.com/falconry/falcon/issues/1724 Upstream confirmed that 3.0.0a1 passes tests with 3.9. So the next step is getting uvicorn and daphne packaged. I'll happy to have any help with getting those packaged. Python 3.9 update: The f33-python side tag is currently being merged. New builds in f33-python are no longer possible, but python3 is not yet updated to Python 3.9 in rawhide. You can check when Python is Python 3.9 with: $ koji wait-repo f33-build --build python3.9-3.9.0~b1-3.fc3 And build the packages normally after that. I've submitted python-uvicorn (bug 1844308) and python-daphne (bug 1844313) for review. python-uvicorn will also need python-watchgod (bug 1844303), which I've also submitted for review. Any assistance reviewing those would be appreciated. This is a bulk close of Python 3.9 bugzillas of packages that successfully built. If this remained open for a reason, I am sorry and feel free to reopen. |
