Description Didier 2020-04-02 09:47:41 UTC
'geany-1.36-1.epel8.playground' is available in the epel-playground repo since 11/2019.
'geany-1.36-1.epel8.playground' does not install, due to a missing "Requires: vte3".

This requirement is strange, as vte3 has been retired two years ago (https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/vte3/c/01cda3298572cf867b0417d716e413d44208b4ae?branch=master), and all current geany versions (including the F28 version, on which EL8 is based) require vte291.

Even the latest koji package, geany-1.36-2.fc32 (https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1436448) compiles and runs perfectly for el8, with all dependencies satisfied :
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/ifas/el8-missing/package/geany/

Is there a specific reason preventing geany from being included in EPEL8 ?
