Description Fedora Release Engineering 2020-08-03 17:08:07 UTC
glibc32 failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f33

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=47961800

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_33_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix glibc32 at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
glibc32 will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 34,
glibc32 will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Comment 4 Florian Weimer 2020-08-04 13:13:09 UTC
We should put the first glibc 2.32 build into glibc32. It should have proper build notes.

Comment 5 Carlos O'Donell 2020-08-04 13:15:20 UTC
This is waiting for glibc 2.32 release after which we will sync Rawhide and then rebuild glibc32. This should be fixed within the next week.

Comment 6 Ben Cotton 2020-08-11 14:03:16 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 33 development cycle.
Changing version to 33.

Comment 7 Carlos O'Donell 2020-09-14 15:31:10 UTC
I'm updating rawhide right now.

Comment 8 Carlos O'Donell 2020-09-15 13:43:31 UTC
Rawhide is updated.

Tested building gcc with glibc32 was good.

Will be doing the f33 update today.

Comment 9 Carlos O'Donell 2020-09-22 13:53:35 UTC
Fixed in glibc32-2.32-1.1.fc33.1.

No bodhi process initiated because we never ship glibc32 in a compose, it's a buildroot-only package used to build the system compiler with multiple architecture support on Intel.
