Comment 4 Upstream Release Monitoring 2021-02-20 15:52:13 UTC
the-new-hotness/release-monitoring.org's scratch build of octave-6.2.0-1.fc32.src.rpm for rawhide failed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=62362991

Comment 5 Vasiliy Glazov 2021-03-26 08:01:39 UTC
Are you have plan to upgrade octave?

Comment 6 Orion Poplawski 2021-04-02 03:10:16 UTC
I have been holding out hope that swig will support octave 6.2 at some point, otherwise we will need to drop a couple packages.

Comment 7 Otto Urpelainen 2021-04-06 06:42:22 UTC
Fedora 34 Beta suffers from this annoying bug in octave-gui:

    https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=59483

The bug is closed upstream, updating Octave would solve the issue. But as we are very late in the Fedora 34 development cycle, I assume there will be no new Octave in Fedora 34? @orion, considering that, should I file a separate bug about patching said bug?

Comment 8 Orion Poplawski 2021-04-06 13:11:39 UTC
There will not be an update to octave in 34. Please file a separate bug and hopefully we can backport the fix without much trouble.

Comment 9 Otto Urpelainen 2021-04-06 19:25:12 UTC
(In reply to Orion Poplawski from comment #8)

Hi Orion,
  any news on this regard.

Octave 6 is a worth update to version 5 and it would be nice to have it for Fedora 35.
