Right, this is the same as Bug #1938440.

Maybe there was a better way to deal with it, but at the time, I thought it would be better UX to update the dependencies so that the package could not be installed at all, rather than let users install a package that can't work on their systems.

The upstream has not responded to the issue, and has not committed to the project since 2019. So, I'm retiring the package, as of commit aef7c4fca3.
