Description Jens Petersen 2023-09-26 06:31:58 UTC
When running Plasma Wayland in English (non-CJK) for example,
currently none.conf has QT_IM_MODULE=XIM which causes
ibus not to work.

The solution you gave me was to get IMSETTINGS_IGNORE_SESSION=KDE-wayland
in /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/none.conf to fix this for Plasma Wayland.

I think we should fix this for F39

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot F39 KDE Spin
2. turn on ibus virtual keyboard
3. add an ibus IME
4. try to use IME
Actual Results:
4. IME doesn't work (since XIM not running)

Expected Results:
4. IME to work

Comment 5 Jens Petersen 2023-09-28 07:14:01 UTC
I tested this in the latest Rawhide Nightly Live Spin and it looks good to me now
Thank you!!

So now ibus works out of the box if one just enables the ibus virtual keyboard
(that is still not a very intuitive step and prevents using maliit with ibus,
but at least it is basically working now as expected.)
