Description of problem:
I am not sure, if this is really the gfx driver, just guessing here.
My display got completely crap after viewing (playing indiana jones of the www) http://gladiator.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Images/press-images/mosaic.1.0.tif

Wild guess: Either the same issue or related to Bug 498572; my comment there is Bug 498572 Comment 3, but I can reproduce this problem as well
