Description Steve Cleveland 2011-01-14 23:35:40 UTC
Description of problem:

It appears gettext had a version bump in RHEL 5.6. That's causing a dependency error installing blender or installing system updates if blender is already installed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

blender-2.49b-8.el5
gettext-0.17-1.el5

How reproducible:

Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install blender
2. run 'yum update gettext' to update to RHEL 5.6 version of gettext
3.

Actual results:

# yum update gettext
Loaded plugins: kmdl, rhnplugin, security
This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled.

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
                        package-cleanup --dupes
                        rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Expected results:

gettext should update without having uninstall blender

Additional info:

This is reproducible on both 32bit and 64bit platforms
