Description Dennis Gilmore 2013-03-23 01:21:56 UTC
Support for the ARM 64 bit CPU architecture (aarch64) was introduced in
autoconf 2.69. libxml2 appears to use an earlier version of
autoconf, preventing its being built. This can be fixed in of three ways (In order of preference):

1. Work with upstream to migrate the package to autoconf 2.69.

2. Rerun autoconf or autoreconf in %prep or %build prior to running
configure.

3. Apply the patch at http://ausil.fedorapeople.org/aarch64/libxml2/libxml2-aarch64.patch
which updates config.guess and config.sub to recognize aarch64.

Comment 1 Daniel Veillard 2013-03-23 03:18:23 UTC
I am upstream :-), and right now I am on autoconf-2.68-4.fc17
I am upgrading to autoconf-2.69-10 which should solve the problem on next
releases. it is still inconvenient that autoreconf -if -Wall won't update
automatically the config.sub and config.guess when one bumps the
autoconf used. Once removed and rerun I get

timestamp='2012-02-10'
in config.sub and congig.guess

thinkpad:~/XML -> grep aarch64 config.guess
    aarch64:Linux:*:*)
    aarch64_be:Linux:*:*)
	UNAME_MACHINE=aarch64_be
thinkpad:~/XML ->

 the config files are not in git so there is no upstream commit to show,
but that should be fixed in the next upstream release,

  thanks !

Daniel
