Description Antonio T. (sagitter) 2015-11-03 17:21:08 UTC
Description of problem:
CopasiUI (like CopasiSE) in the COPASI package is not PIE; i tried to rebuild by adding '-pie' flag but CopasiUI's linking process is failed (http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=11688734&name=build.log&offset=-4000) with

/usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/5.1.1/../../../../lib64/libqtmmlwidget.a(qtmmlwidget.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata.str1.1' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC

in the meantime PIE is enabled in CopasiSE (copasi's command-line version that is not linked against static libqtmmlwidget librariy).

The compilation is complete if i use -fPIE but in this case we have -fPIC/-fPIE in same command (packaging guidelines violation).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
COPASI-4.16-0.16.20150817git3bc4e9

How reproducible:
Build with -pie flag
