Simone - with this change, you changed the soname of libtomcrypt.so from libtomcrypt.so.0 to libtomcrypt-1.17.so.0.  I doubt that this was you intention.  If it was, everything that uses it will need to be rebuilt.

As discussed by mail, I've added a sed command in the SPEC file to remove -release and made a note:
