The problem exists both on Fedora 24 and Fedora 25:

    [mfabian@Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_6 ~]$ cat /etc/fedora-release 
    Fedora release 25 (Twenty Five)
    [mfabian@Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_6 ~]$ rpm -qf /usr/share/myspell/ga_IE.dic

    hunspell-ga-4.6-11.fc24.noarch
    [mfabian@Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_6 ~]$ 
    [mfabian@Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_6 ~]$ cat /usr/share/myspell/ga_IE.dic
    5
    AAI
    ABC
    ACLU
    ACS
    Binary file (standard input) matches
    [mfabian@Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_6 ~]$ 

The last line makes me think that something went wrong generating that file.

this is basically the same as bug 1316359

caused by regression in GNU grep 2.23, need to just rebuild the package with fixed grep to fix it
