Description pkoz 2016-09-12 22:31:02 UTC
Description of problem:
The processor load tooltip does not show the actual CPU load percentage when the cursor is hovered over the graph on the panel. Instead, it shows the value of the left leaving edge of the graph which is 20..30 seconds in the past.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Vendor : Fedora Project
URL : http://mate-desktop.org
Summary : Process and resource monitor
Description :
mate-system-monitor allows to graphically view and manipulate the running
processes on your system. It also provides an overview of available resources
such as CPU and memory.

How reproducible:
Easily.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run some CPU-intensive program.
2. Shut it down.
3. Hover the cursor over the CPU graph on the panel
4. Observe how the % values change in the tooltip.

Actual results:
Percentage is high long after the program has been shut down.
Percentage falls as the historical part of the graph leaves the left edge of the monitor rectangle.

Expected results:
One would expect that the tooltip shows the actual, real-time value of the measured property and not some value back in the past.

Additional info:
I am not sure about the other graphs and tooltip values, but the memory is also suspicious to me. If I am right on the CPU grpah then please check the rest, too.

Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2017-11-16 19:54:01 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.
