Description Serge Matveenko 2017-10-06 21:46:10 UTC
Description of problem:

I have a strange thing happening under Fedora 25. It looks like my keyboard constantly typing something. The symbol is suppressed under gnome and the only symptoms are that some text fields getting focus and terminal window scrolls down like there is keystroke but nothing appears in the input. However, I've noticed that in pure terminal "Ctrl+Alt+F3" there are symbols. They look like "^@" repeatedly appearing like I continue to enter them. But I don't. I checked that all the keys on the keyboard work as expected and no one is jammed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

kernel-4.13.4-200.fc26.x86_64

How reproducible:

Constantly

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+F2
2. Notice artifact symbols appear in the login prompt

Actual results:

artifact symbols

Expected results:

no artifact symbols

Additional info:

Doesn't reproduce on kernel-4.12.14-300.fc26.x86_64

Comment 1 Serge Matveenko 2017-10-06 21:55:33 UTC
It's Fedora 26 actually

Comment 2 Hans de Goede 2017-10-09 14:14:53 UTC
This sounds like a duplicate of bug 1497861, can you check if the kernel update fixing that fixes things for you too ?

Comment 3 Serge Matveenko 2017-10-11 07:02:54 UTC
I can confirm.
Reproduces on kernel-4.13.4-200.fc26.x86_64
Doesn't reproduce on kernel-4.13.5-200.fc26.x86_64
