Description Mohan Boddu 2018-07-20 00:33:56 UTC
mdadm failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide

For details on the mass rebuild see:
Please fix mdadm at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
mdadm will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 30,
mdadm will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Hi Mohan

I'm trying to build mdadm package for f29, but it's failed because of "/bin/sh: cc: command not found"

Do you know the reason for this? I have updated mdadm to upstream in f28. It doesn't have this problem when building package for f28.

Hi Jes

Do you know how to fix the building error?

Comment 6 XiaoNi 2018-07-20 07:40:12 UTC
This bug is reported for the failure what I said in comment4. It needs to add gcc into BuildRequires

Comment 7 Igor Raits 2018-07-23 11:00:35 UTC
/bin/sh: cc: command not found

Suggested fix:
BuildRequires: gcc

Comment 8 Igor Raits 2018-07-23 20:10:51 UTC
There has been at least one successfull build after this bug got created.
