dnf update --allowerasing --best
resolves this by deleting LuxRender-blender 1.6-26.fc27

Comment 2 Ben Cotton 2018-11-27 14:42:10 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 27 is nearing its end of life.
On 2018-Nov-30 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for
Fedora 27. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases
that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as
EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '27'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 27 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Keeping this bug open for now

Comment 5 Luya Tshimbalanga 2019-03-21 02:01:37 UTC
For your information, LuxRender is replaced by luxcorerender. Unfortunately, ipsc which is the dependent package failed to build properly. See #1667628

Also:

Starting a fresh Fedora 29 install via anaconda's GUI,
selecting "KDE Plasma Workspaces" with the "Design Suite" add-on (and no other selections),
and the default mirror setting ("Closest mirror"):

Anaconda throws "Error checking software dependencies" with something like this:

Problem 1: conflicting requests
- nothing provides blender(AB|) = 2.79 needed by LuxRender—blender-l.6-26.fc28.noarch

Problem 2: conflicting requests
- package gimp—2:2.10.8—S.fc29.x86_64 requires libmypaint—l.3.so.0()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed
- package gimp-2:2.10.6-2.fc29.x86_64 requires libmypaint-l.3.50.0()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed
- package libmypaint-l.3.0-9.fc29.x86_64 conf?licts with mypaint < 1.3.0 provided by mypaint—1.2.1-19.fc29.i686
- package libmypaint-l.3.0-9.fc29.x86_64 conf?licts with mypaint < 1.3.0 provided by mypaint-1.2.1-19.fc29.x86_64

Comment 7 Luya Tshimbalanga 2019-04-01 05:43:26 UTC
Exclude LuxRender-blender and mypaint after installation as workaround when using Design Suite group.
"dnf install @design-suite -x {LuxRender-blender,mypaint}"
