Description Miro Hrončok 2020-10-06 21:10:09 UTC
$ rpm -q fedpkg
fedpkg-1.39-1.fc32.noarch

$ rpm -q python3-rpkg
python3-rpkg-1.61-1.fc32.noarch

When I try to retire golang-github-mholt-certmagic-0.9, I get:

$ fedpkg retire "Orphaned for 6+ weeks"
Could not execute retire: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'is_retired'

I suspect this has to do with a fact that there is no spec file.

Comment 1 Miro Hrončok 2020-10-07 06:39:42 UTC
May I retire the package manually, or do you need it unretired to be able to reproduce?

Comment 2 Ondřej Nosek 2020-10-07 06:45:37 UTC
I believe I can reproduce it even retired. But if you are not in a hurry, please, retire it by the end of today.

Comment 3 Miro Hrončok 2020-10-07 06:51:09 UTC
I am not in a hurry - the package was never built, so retiring it now or later doesn't really make any difference. Since I cannot retire it accidentally, I won't retire it today. Thanks

Comment 4 Miro Hrončok 2020-10-16 07:53:31 UTC
I've retired the package now.

Comment 5 Carl George 🤠 2020-10-27 01:20:49 UTC
I ran into this same bug today. I requested a new repo for an EPEL7-only package, and thus I tried to immediately retire the master branch with no spec file.

[carl@tassadar:~/packaging/fedora/python3-mod_wsgi]$ rpm -q fedpkg
fedpkg-1.39-1.fc33.noarch
[carl@tassadar:~/packaging/fedora/python3-mod_wsgi]$ fedpkg retire 'EPEL7-only package'
Could not execute retire: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'is_retired'

Comment 6 Miro Hrončok 2020-10-27 08:45:37 UTC
As a workaround, git rm all the files, create and git add dead.package with the reason and commit this with the reason as a commit message.

Comment 7 Ondřej Nosek 2020-12-02 01:36:12 UTC
Going to be released in rpkg-1.62-1
