An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.11.6. fastrpc_internal_invoke in drivers/misc/fastrpc.c does not prevent user applications from sending kernel RPC messages. This is a related issue to CVE-2019-2308.

Statement:

There was no shipped kernel version were seen affected with this problem. These files are not built in our source code.

Mitigation:

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options don't meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
