Description Miro Hrončok 2021-04-21 19:09:00 UTC
Hello,

Please note that this comment was generated automatically. If you feel that this output has mistakes, please contact me via email (mhroncok).

Your package (blender) Fails To Install in Fedora 34:

can't install blender:
  - nothing provides libAlembic.so.1.7()(64bit) needed by blender-1:2.92.0-2.fc34.x86_64

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

If you don't react accordingly to the policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks.

P.S. The data was generated solely from koji buildroot, so it might be newer than the latest compose or the content on mirrors.

P.P.S. If this bug has been reported in the middle of upgrading multiple dependent packages, please consider using side tags: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#updating-inter-dependent-packages

Thanks!

The output is a mistake because of https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-12adef6db2 as blender update is 1:2.92.0-2.fc34.x86_64 built on alembic-1.8.0-0.1_beta2.fc34.

Comment 2 Miro Hrončok 2021-04-22 08:39:44 UTC
It is not a mistake, that update is not yet stable.

Comment 3 Fedora Update System 2021-04-22 08:40:04 UTC
FEDORA-2021-12adef6db2 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 34. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-12adef6db2

Comment 4 Miro Hrončok 2021-04-22 08:42:58 UTC
Due to https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/overrides/alembic-1.8.0-0.1_beta2.fc34 the Koji buildroot now has a broken dependency.

The bug says: "The data was generated solely from koji buildroot"

I highly recommend to:

 - expire such override right after the update is created to end the broken dependency in the buildroot
 - use side tags the next time to avoid the broken dependency altogether: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#updating-inter-dependent-packages

Comment 5 Luya Tshimbalanga 2021-04-22 22:17:13 UTC
Done. The override in question https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/overrides/alembic-1.8.0-0.1_beta2.fc34 is expired.
Looking at the guideline, notice that alembic 1.8.0 beta2 was already tagged with blender on comment #3. I will be careful next time.

Comment 6 Miro Hrončok 2021-04-23 08:11:06 UTC
Thanks.

Comment 7 Fedora Update System 2021-04-24 20:16:46 UTC
