Description Michael Kuhn 2014-12-19 22:07:41 UTC
Created attachment 971333 [details]
Add HighDPI support.

Description of problem:
While WebKitGTK 2.6 (webkitgtk4) contains HighDPI support, version 2.4 (webkitgtk3) is still used for a lot of applications (Evolution, Empathy, …) and does not contain such support.
This makes the WebKit components look blurry when used in a scaled HighDPI configuration.

The attached patch adds HighDPI support to the webkitgtk3 package.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
webkitgtk3.x86_64 2.4.7-1.fc21

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure GNOME to use HighDPI scaling.
2. Start Evolution or Empathy.
3. Notice blurry content in Evolution's mail pane or Empathy's chat window.

Actual results:
Blurry WebKit content.

Expected results:
Sharp WebKit content.

Thanks for the patch. Before applying it to Fedora packages I want to see some feedback from WebKit developers in WebKit bugzilla.
