Thank You!

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2018-06-30 13:42:07 UTC
Sorry for late comment, but... I think this package can omit the python-* prefix, since it already has py* in the name.

I've been planning on submitting name change review for python-qt5 (to match upstream name of PyQt5 or at least pyqt5) since that requirement had been dropped from python naming guidelines awhile back

Comment 4 Rex Dieter 2018-06-30 13:43:39 UTC
I guess in practice, that only affects the src.rpm, the binary subpkgs will still require python(2|3)-* , so <shrug>, not a big deal

Comment 5 Miro Hrončok 2018-06-30 13:44:37 UTC
(In reply to Rex Dieter from comment #3)

I disagree. This once was the case but is not for years.

Yes, it should be named python-pyqt5 (or, theoretically python-PyQt5).

Comment 6 Rex Dieter 2018-06-30 13:50:16 UTC
I stand corrected (iirc I was told otherwise in irc awhile back),
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Naming#Python_source_package_naming

"Source packages for Python modules SHOULD be named using the python- prefix."

sorry for the noise.
