[patch] Update to 4.0.0 (#2003425)
the-new-hotness/release-monitoring.org's scratch build of python-jep-4.0.0-1.fc32.src.rpm for rawhide completed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=75535433 This is a major version increment and it includes removal of deprecated functionality and several changes making it incompatible with previous versions of Jep. So definitely don't build for Fedora 34 declared as stable and not sure about Fedora 35 as in beta state, both currently. Latest upstream release: 4.0.1 Current version/release in rawhide: 3.9.1-3.fc35 URL: https://github.com/ninia/jep Please consult the package updates policy before you issue an update to a stable branch: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/ More information about the service that created this bug can be found at: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upstream_release_monitoring Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream. Update to 4.0.3 (#2003425)
the-new-hotness/release-monitoring.org's scratch build of python-jep-4.0.3-1.fc34.src.rpm for rawhide completed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=84509910 Support for Python 3.10, hopefully soon for Python 3.11 (Fedora 37) as well. Proposing as freeze exception, see bug #2098978. *** Bug 2113632 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Discussed during the 2022-09-19 blocker review meeting: [0] The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedFreezeException (Final)" was made as it is a noticeable issue that cannot be fixed with an update. [0] https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-blocker-review/2022-09-19/f37-blocker-review.2022-09-19-16.00.txt As said, support properly added for at least python 3.10 so I'm going to update as hotfix in F36 but what about F37+? As said in bug #2098978 upstream seems not to be aware of or ready with its CI for python 3.11 yet. Releases retrieved: 4.1.0 Upstream release that is considered latest: 4.1.0 Current version/release in rawhide: 3.9.1-7.fc38 URL: https://github.com/ninia/jep Please consult the package updates policy before you issue an update to a stable branch: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/ More information about the service that created this bug can be found at: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Upstream_Release_Monitoring Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made.
