This (0.5.6) release and a few older ones introduce a new "optimize" keyword (to optimize the pickled object). However, the default value was set to "True", which may cause shoved objects to have different sizes under the default setting (compared to old 0.3.3 version). The next release will revert that default value to "False", and should bring a more compatible default interface to users. Another issue with the packaging is that this package "requires" python-boto and python-sqlalchemy. It's true that one may use shove together with boto and/or database backends, but that's just a choice of the backends (and one may simply use shove with memory or disk files). I would suggest to remove the dependencies. Thanks for the heads-up Ling, I'll wait for the next release. I'm also fine with removing the optional deps. I stopped relying on Shove in my codebase, so if you'd like to help co-maintain this package please fee free :) Latest upstream release: 0.6.2 Current version/release in rawhide: 0.3.3-8.fc23 URL: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/shove Please consult the package updates policy before you issue an update to a stable branch: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Updates_Policy More information about the service that created this bug can be found at: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upstream_release_monitoring Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made.
