Description of problem:

Yesterday a new version of procps-ng has been built for Rawhide. It contains some man pages translated into French which are also available from man-pages-fr. This will cause a file conflict, man-pages-fr cannot be installed if procps-ng-3.3.10 is present.

Note: this also happens on a fresh Fedora 21 Alpha install. Neither DNF nor YUM manage to upgrade the system.

Sorry for the delay, I forgot to mention that a backport to f21 was planned. The package is now in f21-testing. Changing the "version" tag.

Can someone tell here what is correct resolution? I think almost all packages man-pages-* are updated but they all still conflicts with procps-ng-3.3.10-2

ah! just checked man-pages-fr is not built in f21 also got to know from man-pages-de bodhi update comment that procps-ng should own all translated man pages.

No, this affects only languages for which man pages are present in the procps-ng tarball, currently French and German [1]. Actually also Ukrainian, but there's no man-pages-uk package. For Polish too less strings are translated to reach the 80% threshold for po4a.

Yes, indeed. Translated documentation from upstream packages should be always preferred over that files from external projects. The latter are mostly not in sync with the appropriate upstream package.

Package procps-ng continue to fail to update so I investigated this man-pages-* update issue. Found rawhide package when rebuilt in f21 working fine. I just built for f21 from rawhide but I will do some spec cleanup and push new package in f21.

* was pushed to the Fedora 21 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing man-pages-fr-3.66-4.fc21'
as soon as you are able to.
