Did you unmute the sound device with the mixer?

Comment 2 Jason James 2004-02-18 15:24:02 UTC
I tried to start the sound mixer, and received the following error
message:

Details: Failed to execute child process "gst-mixer" (No such file or
directory)

gst-mixer does not seem to be installed. I have the following gst
packages installed:
  gstreamer-plugins-0.7.3-2
  gstreamer-tools-0.7.3-3
  gstreamer-0.7.3-3

Comment 3 Brent Fox 2004-02-20 15:03:19 UTC
Jason: the gst-mixer error is already filed at
http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=115624

Try running 'gnome-volume-control' on the command line.

Comment 5 George Karabin 2004-02-20 22:45:52 UTC
I'm seeing the same problem, although my sound card module is
'snd_intel8x0'. It's also loaded. My audio is not muted.

It seems odd that the GUI error dialog is replacing the underscore
with a hyphen in the module name. I don't know if it matters or not,
but it's the sort of thing that'll drive you nuts if there's any
problem at all. Should that matter at all?
