Description Joachim Frieben 2016-07-01 09:01:25 UTC
Description of problem:
After installing the latest stable updates released for Fedora 24, launching a virtual machine in GNOME Boxes fails with error messages like:

"(gnome-boxes:2928): Boxes-WARNING **: machine.vala:606: Failed to start Fedora 25: Unable to start domain: Failed to connect socket to '/run/user/1000/libvirt/virtlogd-sock': No such file or directory".

However, all related services seem to be up and running as expected.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
audit-2.6.1-1.fc24

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update system running Fedora 24 with the latest stable updates and reboot system.
2. Launch virtual machine in GNOME Boxes.

Actual results:
Virtual machine fails to start up.

Expected results:
Virtual machine starts up successfully.

Additional info:
Downgrade to audit-2.5.2-1.fc24 pulled in by executing 'dnf downgrade audit' restores normal behaviour.

Comment 1 wouter 2016-07-01 12:35:25 UTC
I bumped into the same problem. And the suggested fix (downgrading audit) worked for me (after a reboot).

It might be related to the bug mentioned at: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1351995

Comment 2 Steve Grubb 2016-07-01 14:43:54 UTC
Fixed in upstream commit 1304. A new audit package will be released shortly.
