Description Christian Stadelmann 2016-09-19 11:47:03 UTC
Description of problem:
When running with Gtk3 SAL backend, LibreOffice is much slower than with "gen" SAL backend.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
libreoffice-5.1.5.2-6.fc24.x86_64
libreoffice-5.2.1.2-2.fc25.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. just use LibreOffice. Compare it running with and without SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen set.

Actual results:
Gtk3 backend is very slow

Expected results:
Gtk3 backend should be faster

Comment 1 Caolan McNamara 2016-09-19 12:14:30 UTC
Is there a difference between gtk3 on X vs wayland, cause the comparison to gen isn't helpful to isolate anything

No. Gtk3 on X11 vs. Wayland doesn't show any noticeable difference. Only Gtk3 shows more CPU time compared to gen. I might just have run into bug #1373933
