Comment 1 Björn 'besser82' Esser 2016-10-12 11:52:16 UTC
Eclipse was installed using: dnf group install 'Fedora Eclipse'

Comment 2 Roland Grunberg 2016-10-12 14:44:23 UTC
This might be related to the retirement of glassfish-el-api on f25 and rawhide (see fedora-java list)

Comment 3 Björn 'besser82' Esser 2016-10-12 14:58:55 UTC
Downgraded glassfish-el to glassfish-el-3.0.0-6.fc24.noarch and Eclipse started working again.

Thank you very much!

Comment 4 gil cattaneo 2016-10-12 15:40:21 UTC
Unresolved requirement: Import-Package: javax.el; version="[3.0.0,4.0.0)"
javax.el now comes from glassfish-el-api sub package

Comment 5 gil cattaneo 2016-10-12 15:41:25 UTC
glassfish-el-api-3.0.1-0.1.b08.fc25

Comment 6 Björn 'besser82' Esser 2016-10-12 15:48:34 UTC
even having `glassfish-el-api`-package installed doesn't fix it; gets pulled as an implicit Requires anyways, but doesn't solve the issue… :(

Comment 7 Björn 'besser82' Esser 2016-10-12 15:50:33 UTC
Reopening and re-assigning to glassfish-el package…

Comment 8 Björn 'besser82' Esser 2016-10-12 18:47:30 UTC
The attached log-file is the error generated, when starting Eclipse and having `glassfish-el-3.0.1-0.1.b08.fc25`, `glassfish-el-api-3.0.1-0.1.b08.fc25` installed. Downgrading to `glassfish-el-3.0.0-6.fc24.noarch` instantly solves that and Eclipse starts working again.

Comment 9 Roland Grunberg 2016-10-12 19:14:43 UTC
I don't think this is a bug on the glassfish-el side, since it's Eclipse that actually requires (and symlinks) the bundle (http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/fileinfo?rpmID=8133940&filename=/usr/lib64/eclipse/plugins/com.sun.el.javax.el_3.0.0.jar) . I think a rebuild with the correct Requires should probably fix this.
