Description Petr Pisar 2016-11-14 09:30:15 UTC
amavisd-new-zeromq run-requires perl(ZMQ::LibZMQ3) that run-requires libzmq.so.3()(64bit) that is provided by zeromq3 that will be retired soon. As a result, perl-ZMQ-LibZMQ3 will be retired and amavisd-new will have a broken dependency.

I recommend to port amavisd-new from ZMQ::LibZMQ3 to ZMQ::LibZMQ4.

Comment 1 Thomas Spura 2016-11-16 17:19:19 UTC
Is this porting possible in the near future? I really like to retire zeromq3 soon as it is quite outdated and does not receive Bugfixes.

Comment 2 Juan Orti 2016-11-16 17:35:56 UTC
I've asked upstream [1] if there is any plan to do the migration.

The zeromq components are an optional part of amavisd-new, so if you decide to retire the libraries, I will just drop the subpackages.

It seems there was no response from upstream about this... :/

I just retired zeromq2 and zeromq3, so please modify amavisd-new accordingly.

Yeah, upstream is totally unresponsive.

I've built amavisd-new-2.11.0-5.fc26 with those subpackages dropped.
