Description Mohan Boddu 2018-07-20 17:31:05 UTC
python-s3transfer failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=28224687

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_29_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix python-s3transfer at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
python-s3transfer will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 30,
python-s3transfer will be retired, if it still fails to build.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 29 development cycle.
Changing version to '29'.

Charalampos,

Since you own python-boto3 which depends on this package that no longer exists (making python-boto3 unable to install on Rawhide), I wonder if you might be willing to take on its maintenance?

It appears to originate from the same GitHub organization at least, so you may have reasonable contact with its maintainers already.

Hi. Yes I was actually intending to get the s3transfer package but it fell through the cracks of my todo list and in the end it was orphaned. I'll unretire it. Thanks for notifying me.

There's a working build of this now.
