Description František Zatloukal 2019-03-12 15:02:58 UTC
python-aniso8601 package cannot be installed on Fedora 30 because it requires python3.7dist(relativetimebuilder) which is not in Fedora.

This is fixed in python-aniso8601-6.0.0-1.fc30 which doesn't depend on that at all.

Comment 1 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2019-03-12 15:04:28 UTC
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 30-beta by Fedora user frantisekz using the blocker tracking app because:

The fixed version has been submitted to bodhi: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/python-aniso8601-6.0.0-1.fc30

It makes it possible to install and use python-aniso8601 in Fedora 30.

Comment 2 Adam Williamson 2019-03-12 19:30:39 UTC
Is the package included / intended to be included in any release media? If not, an FE is probably not necessary, the only case it may benefit is upgrades, I guess...

Comment 3 František Zatloukal 2019-03-13 08:04:37 UTC
Yeah, it is not going to be included in any release media.

I had an impression, that an FE would be acceptable to fix "package not installable" . But I am not going to fight for it, sure it can wait :)

Comment 4 Pavel Raiskup 2019-03-18 08:42:32 UTC
May I push the package to stable? It's breaking some of Copr package builds.

Comment 5 Adam Williamson 2019-03-18 14:13:55 UTC
the freeze exception request has to be reviewed first.

Comment 6 Pavel Raiskup 2019-03-18 14:21:12 UTC
Does it mean that it is better to have not-installable package rather
than broken package? How this problem relates to freeze exception?

Comment 7 Adam Williamson 2019-03-18 14:25:34 UTC
It relates to a freeze exception because F30 is frozen right now. For anything to go stable it needs a freeze exception.

Comment 8 Pavel Raiskup 2019-03-18 15:35:06 UTC
But I guess it doesn't block us from pressing the "Push to stable" button, or?
Once bodhi is unblocked, it will get in ASAP.

Comment 9 Adam Williamson 2019-03-18 15:58:02 UTC
Sure, you can do that.

Comment 10 Geoffrey Marr 2019-03-18 18:33:06 UTC
Discussed during the 2019-03-18 blocker review meeting: [1]

The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedFreezeException" was made as this package is a build dependency for others, so it not being installable is causing problems for other package builds. We grant it an FE to solve that issue. It should not affect the actual Beta composes at all.
