Description Manni Heumann 2019-08-23 09:29:06 UTC
Description of problem:

After upgrading the vim-enhanced and vim-X11 packages to version 2:8.1.1890-1.fc30 this morning, I was no longer able to use the vim server features. Executing ":version" confirmed that vim was no longer build with the clientserver feature.

Downgrading to 2:8.1.1137-1.fc30 worked as a workaround

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

2:8.1.1890-1.fc30

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade
2. run vim
3. execute ":version"
4. look for "clientserver"

Actual results:

:version displays "-clientserver"

Expected results:

:version displays "+clientserver"

When I say "run vim" I mean "/usr/bin/vimx"

Comment 2 Zdenek Dohnal 2019-08-26 04:48:43 UTC
Hi Manni,

thank you for reporting the issue - it is caused by my mistake (I misinterpreted how vimx should work) in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1740892 , fixing commit is there too.

I deeply sorry for inconvenience and hope it helps.

No need to apologize, Zdenek. The fixed version looks good. Thank you for all the work you put into this!
