Description Nicholas Miell 2021-06-14 05:38:19 UTC
Description of problem:
pipewire-pulse occasionally gets stuck in an infinite loop where audio playback stops working and it spams the journal with "pipewire-pulse[2081]: loop 0x5576d5192778: queue xrun -64" as rapidly as possible. (In this latest incident it spammed the message 28976 times in the two minutes five seconds it took me to notice the problem and restart the service.)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pipewire-0.3.30-2.fc34.x86_64

How reproducible:
Random. I've had it happen twice.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. None.

Actual results:
Audio playback halts. New attempts to start playing audio plays a fraction of a second before halting again. Video playback synced to audio playback stutters or halts completely.

Expected results:
pipewire functions at least as well as pulseaudio.

Additional info:
Audio starts working after doing a systemctl --user restart pipewire-pulse, without having to restart any of the applications that were attempting to play audio.
