Description Fedora Fails To Install 2022-12-14 14:19:16 UTC
Hello,

Please note that this comment was generated automatically by https://pagure.io/releng/blob/main/f/scripts/ftbfs-fti/follow-policy.py
If you feel that this output has mistakes, please open an issue at https://pagure.io/releng/

Your package (openas2) Fails To Install in Fedora 38:

can't install openas2-lib:
  - nothing provides mvn(commons-lang:commons-lang) needed by openas2-lib-2.10.0-9.fc35.noarch
  - nothing provides mvn(org.hsqldb:hsqldb) needed by openas2-lib-2.10.0-9.fc35.noarch

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

If you don't react accordingly to the policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks.

P.S. The data was generated solely from koji buildroot, so it might be newer than the latest compose or the content on mirrors. To reproduce, use the koji/local repo only, e.g. in mock:

    $ mock -r fedora-38-x86_64 --config-opts mirrored=False install openas2-lib

P.P.S. If this bug has been reported in the middle of upgrading multiple dependent packages, please consider using side tags: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#updating-inter-dependent-packages

Thanks!

This is the first reminder (step 3 from https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/#_package_removal_for_long_standing_ftbfs_and_fti_bugs).

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

Comment 2 Stuart D Gathman 2023-01-02 02:27:44 UTC
As noted on openas2, the issue is Fedora dropped both embedded db alternatives (h2 and hsqldb). I am working on patching to remove embedded database support altogether, as postgresql will do the job.

Comment 4 Fedora Admin user for bugzilla script actions 2023-02-07 00:21:17 UTC
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

Comment 5 Ben Cotton 2023-02-07 15:00:49 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 38 development cycle.
Changing version to 38.

Comment 6 Fedora Fails To Install 2023-02-08 09:40:38 UTC
This package has been orphaned.

You can pick it up at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/openas2 by clicking button "Take". If nobody picks it up, it will be retired and removed from a distribution.

Comment 7 Miro Hrončok 2023-02-10 21:17:24 UTC
Automation has figured out the package is retired in Fedora 38.

If you like it to be unretired, please open a ticket at https://pagure.io/releng/new_issue?template=package_unretirement

Comment 8 Stuart D Gathman 2023-03-28 01:40:58 UTC
The issue is that Fedora has dropped needed db packages, and non-trivial patches are required to rewrite the DB class for sqlite or other replacement. I'll eventually get a patch working.
