If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

If you don't react accordingly to the policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks.

P.S. The data was generated solely from koji buildroot, so it might be newer than the latest compose or the content on mirrors. To reproduce, use the koji/local repo only, e.g. in mock:

    $ mock -r fedora-39-x86_64 --config-opts mirrored=False install python3-ZEO+msgpack python3-ZEO+uvloop python3-ZEO

P.P.S. If this bug has been reported in the middle of upgrading multiple dependent packages, please consider using side tags: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#updating-inter-dependent-packages

Thanks!

Comment 1 Jerry James 2023-07-25 19:51:41 UTC
I can remove the uvloop dependency until uvloop is fixed, but ZEO fails tests all on its own.

Comment 2 Jerry James 2023-08-02 15:31:51 UTC
Upstream has fixed the problem on the main branch. I am now waiting for a new release, or at least for the fix to be ported to the 5.x branch.

Comment 3 Fedora Release Engineering 2023-08-16 07:16:11 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle.
Changing version to 39.

Fedora 39 Beta was just released. Is it probable that this will be released in time for the Fedora 39 Final Freeze (2023-10-03)? If not, could you please consider backporting the fix?

Comment 5 Jerry James 2023-09-21 16:34:40 UTC
There has been no upstream activity since python 3.12 support was added to the main branch. I made an attempt at backporting, but there are just too many changes between the 5.1 branch and the main branch. I keep breaking stuff in new and interesting ways. So I will build the main branch for F39 and Rawhide, without uvloop support. I presume the main branch is slated to be version 5.2 in the future. If not-quite-5.2 is incompatible with something else, well, that's no worse than the package not being installable at all.

Comment 6 Jerry James 2023-09-21 16:35:46 UTC
Errr, that should be 5.4 and not-quite-5.5.
