Description Fedora QA Tools SIG 2023-08-12 11:00:07 UTC
Everything boot x86_64 image https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/branched/Fedora-39-20230812.n.0/compose/Everything/x86_64/iso/Fedora-Everything-netinst-x86_64-39-20230812.n.0.iso from compose Fedora-39-20230812.n.0 is 749281280 bytes, exceeding the maximum size 734003200. Canonical maximum sizes can be found at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/releases/f39/spins/ and https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/releases/f39/blocking/ . This check is run by the 'relval' tool, which has its own list of maximum sizes derived from those pages. If the maximum size used for this comparison is wrong, please add a comment and file a bug against relval at https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/relval/issues and it will be corrected. If you believe the canonical maximum size for an image should be changed, please follow the appropriate process before filing a relval bug.

ISO Oversize issues are automatic blockers and do not need to go through the normal blocker review process. Marking as AcceptedBlocker.

Comment 3 Adam Williamson 2023-08-28 22:50:15 UTC
I think getting a lorax build with https://github.com/weldr/lorax/pull/1338 in it would help a lot here: we have 36M of qualcomm firmware in the x86_64 ISO. I'll do a test lorax build and look at the results.

Comment 4 Adam Williamson 2023-08-28 23:45:13 UTC
A test netinst built with a lorax with that patch applied came out to 720074752 bytes, under the limit. As time is getting tight and bcl isn't around, I'll do an official build with the patch backported, we can always replace it with a new version later.
