Github rpm-software-management dnf pull 1983 0 None open Revert "Unprotect dnf and yum, protect python3-dnf" 2023-08-28 15:39:40 UTC

Description Adam Williamson 2023-08-25 01:29:52 UTC
dnf was un-protected for the DNF 5 Change, but we have reverted that Change. dnf should be protected again.

This has also been reported at https://github.com/rpm-software-management/dnf/issues/1982 : I am reporting it in Bugzilla so we can get it into F39 Beta. Proposing as a freeze exception as I don't think it hits any of the blocker criteria, but we really really should get this in.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Fedora 39
2. Try and remove dnf

Actual Results:
You're allowed to

Expected Results:
It should be protected and you shouldn't be allowed to remove it

Ping? This seems quite important to get done, but I see no downstream builds since the upstream PR was merged.
