Description Hector Martin 2023-09-21 08:42:33 UTC
An upstream regression in 6.5 subtly broke atomic primitives. This can cause all kinds of subtle issues including filesystem corruption.

This fix is not in stable kernels yet.

Upstream commit: https://git.kernel.org/tip/6d2779ecaeb56f92d7105c56772346c71c88c278

Reproducible: Sometimes

Comment 1 Neal Gompa 2023-09-21 08:44:50 UTC
6.5 hasn't yet landed in 38, it is however part of 39. So... switching and filing for blocker status.

Comment 2 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2023-09-21 09:07:37 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker for 39-final by Fedora user ngompa using the blocker tracking app because:

This issue is severe enough that it can cause data corruption on systems that hit this.
