This is now available in https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-ee87e22b40 and should reach Rawhide soon.

Hi, this appears to break lualatex (apparently just needs recompiling as per https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=162609)

This check really should be removed because zlib and zlib-ng both preserve compatibility across different versions.

Well, they try to. Mistakes are always possible especially when Fedora is the first mover testing this against such a wide corpus of software.

Not saying that's the case here, though.
