Description of problem:
The following error message appears when starting gnome-volume-control. It 
seems to be related to the CS4232 properties, this causes volume settings to 
not be saved or loaded, error doesnt specify which.

1.configure cs4232 sound on IBM 600e
2.open gnome-volume-control

Actual Results:  preferences weren't save and/or loaded.
