Description Josh Boyer 2012-12-11 19:14:31 UTC
Description of problem:

The kernel should import certs stored in the MokListRT UEFI variable provided by shim. This will be the basis for making 3rd party signed modules and/or self-signed kernels work in a Secure Boot environment.

This is already implemented in f18 with this build:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=372260

Rawhide also has the code in git already and should show up in a build within a day or two.

Comment 1 Josh Boyer 2012-12-11 19:16:23 UTC
Proposing as F18 NTH.

Without this support, third party signed modules are still doable, but are much less user friendly. Users would need to go through the firmware interface directly to import a cert into the UEFI db variable instead of using the 'mokutil' utility from userspace provided by the shim package.

Package kernel-3.6.10-4.fc18:
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 18 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing kernel-3.6.10-4.fc18'
as soon as you are able to, then reboot.
Please go to the following url:
